Team Christmas
Prompt: How would the teams spend Christmas together?
A/N: It’s more realistic, based on team dynamics. Not all are fluff!
- They met at Starless after closing hours; the lights were a softer gold instead of the usual stage glare.
- Someone, no one remembered who, had suggested spending Christmas together. Some of the leaders were for it, some against, but Unei managed to convince them for the sake of team bonding.
- The table was neatly set, takeout containers arranged evenly, and drinks poured for everyone.
- Sotetsu made playful remarks here and there, but never anything sharp enough to start something. He knew Kei would not take kindly to that, and he didn’t want to get on Kei’s bad side, at least not today.
- Yakou laughed politely at the right moments, nodding along, trying to look like he belonged in the conversation.
- Yoshino ate quietly, eyes lowered, listening more than speaking, except when the topics of singing came up.
- They talked about schedules, upcoming shows, harmless surface things. No arguments had broken out. No tempers flared.
- There were moments where silence hung in the air just long enough to feel it, but short enough to ignore.
- Ginsei almost brought up personal topics, then stopped himself, not knowing how the others would react, and returned to his eating instead.
- Gui watched everyone carefully, but never said anything. He had never been exposed to what it would feel like to be around a family (blood-related or chosen), so this was normal to him.
- Kei had carried the weight of the room without complaint, guiding conversation and never letting discomfort take charge. Sotetsu also helped. He was a chaos lover, but let it go for the day. But that didn’t stop him from teasing verbally.
- Yakou had a moment where he wondered if this was what growing up meant…sitting with people who knew your name but not your heart.
- Yoshino felt pressure on his chest; he was surrounded by people, but was still unseen.
- Ginsei had put on soft seasonal music. It played like background noise rather than a celebration.
- Once they were done eating, they cleaned up together. No one asked to stay longer.
- They left together and exchanged polite goodbyes.
- “See you tomorrow.”
- “Good work tonight.”
- “Get home safe.”
- And then they went their separate ways. Kei walked away carrying the responsibility he always did, but there was no warmth in his chest.
- Ginsei went home wondering why being surrounded still felt lonely, even when nothing had gone wrong.
- Gui believed the night had been successful because no one got upset and no arguments broke out.
- Yakou replayed the evening, unsure whether they had bonded or not.
- Yoshino walked away with the familiar thought as he always had – some people were meant to stand beside others, not to lean on.
- Sotetsu smiled to himself, knowing how all of them were feeling.
- Christmas had passed quietly. No bonds had broken, but none had formed either. They sat, ate, and left together, but they hadn’t truly shared anything. Team K’s Christmas was observed, not felt.
- They met at a quiet bar tucked away from the main streets, somewhere where their fans wouldn’t find them easily.
- It wasn’t planned in advance, but Akira mentioned drinks, and no one objected.
- Kokuyou sat where he got the clearest view of the room in case any fans came in. He could warn his team members. They had to be extra careful after what happened last time…
- Takami chose a spot where he could see everyone, so he could see their expressions when they were talking.
- Sin sat beside him, calm and unreadable, fingers loosely wrapped around his glass. He preferred to listen, then talk, unless someone asked him a question.
- Akira and Taiga ended up next to each other.
- Alcohol loosened the atmosphere, but not the walls. Conversation stayed around work, music, complaints about schedules, and half-serious jokes. No one dug deeper, and everyone’s walls were still up.
- Akira was the first to get drunk. His laughter grew louder, his posture looser, and Kokuyou had to stop him from singing loudly multiple times.
- Akira protested every time because he really wanted to sing, but he ended up forgetting minutes later and told half-truth, exaggerated stories.
- Taiga was the next to get drunk. His words were slurred, he jumped from topic to topic, rambling about games, tech, and things he usually kept to himself, like his FAVORITE female game character. He listed out every single detail, including the ones that he would usually be shy to say aloud.
- Kokuyou acted like a big brother and slid Taiga’s drink out of reach when he tried to get hammered more.
- Takami watched the whole thing with amusement. He focused more on eating and observing. Sin said little throughout the night, but he seemed content.
- Later on, Akira leaned against Taiga and used his shoulder as a pillow.
- “Y’know,” Taiga said, slurring slightly, “we’re kinda…not friends, huh?”
- Akira didn’t register it because he was already dozing off. Kokuyou, Sin, and Takami raised an eyebrow, but didn’t laugh.
- Kokuyou snorted and changed the subject. They stayed longer than planned, mainly waiting for Akira to wake up while making sure Taiga doesn’t fall asleep.
- When they finally left the bar, they walked together. Kokuyou walked behind Taiga, ready to catch him if needed.
- Akira leaned against Takami while Sin was ready to catch either of them from falling, if needed. Takami and Sin helped the two drunk men to Kokuyou’s place before heading to their own homes.
- They weren’t friends or strangers. They were a team that occasionally shared space, alcohol, and time, and then returned to their separate lives.
- They met at Kongou’s house, because it was a place where everyone felt safe enough. Kongou started cooking earlier in the morning. He was determined to make everything to their liking.
- Mizuki was the first to show up. He immediately took over the couch like he owned the place. He dozed off, and Kongou tucked him in before returning to cooking.
- Ran arrived next with a big grin and carrying far too many bags. “I GOT GIFTS,” he announced proudly, waking Mizuki up. He would have been in a bad mood if it hadn’t been for a Kongou giving him food.
- Heath arrived next, hovering near the doorway until Kongou told him to come inside. Heath didn’t want to be rude and walk in as if he owned the place.
- Rico came in, complaining about the cold, the food smells, and the noise. But his words didn’t have a bite to them like they usually did.
- Hinata burst in with energy that caught everyone off guard. Rico would have lectured him, but he was too comfortable and cozy near the fireplace to move or get mad.
- Kongou kept moving between rooms, smiling, cooking, checking on everyone like that was the most natural thing in the world.
- Dinner was loud. Mizuki kept stealing food off everyone’s plate, even though Kongou told him there was more in the kitchen.
- Heath sat quietly but relaxed, listening more than speaking, but there was a faint smile on his lips.
- Ran handed out gifts before dessert. The gifts were so neatly wrapped that everyone doubted that Ran had wrapped them himself. He just smiled, but didn’t actually confirm or deny.
- Heath and Kongou received thoughtful gifts. Rico got a prank gift, and Hinata and Mizuki got chaotic gifts. But Rico and Hinata still chuckled, and Mizuki started chasing Ran around, making everyone laugh.
- The music started quietly but slowly grew louder. Alcohol also got involved, but Kongou and Heath didn’t drink. Rico had a little, but the chaotic trio got hammered.
- Ran and Mizuki danced. Hinata was slumped on the floor, complaining that he was dizzy.
- Rico recorded everything so he could use it as blackmail later. Kongou and Heath watched with a smile.
- Everyone was their true selves, no walls, no pretending, and no care for anything except the present moment.
- Kongou’s house was a mess afterwards, but he didn’t care. Everyone had fun, and that matters to him more than anything.
- Rico brought Hinata to a bedroom, Heath tucked Ran in, and Kongou covered Mizuki with a blanket as their leader slept peacefully on the couch.
- Rico and Kongou cleaned up, and Heath helped a little bit. They both thanked Kongou for dinner, and the older man asked them to stay the night out of concern.
- All of them stayed over, turning their Christmas party into a sleepover. It wasn’t perfect. It was noisy and chaotic, but they felt like a family.
