Prompt: Can I request something with Sin? So, he speaks in Sin語 and almost no one has a clue what he’s saying, yeah? Well, how about HCs on reader who doesn’t speak Sin語 and also doesn’t speak Japanese. See, double “what-the-hell-are-you-saying”. Reader desperately just wants to have a nice conversation and yet– oof lol.

  • You had heard that Sin’s speech patterns were difficult to understand, even for the smartest of the Starless members, but you wanted to talk to him. Unbeknownst to everyone, you were interested in Sin.
  • Unfortunately, every time you attempted to talk to him, someone either interrupted or he was too busy to respond.
  • Today was different because you found Sin all alone in the office. ‘Now’s my chance.’ You stood outside the office and did a little happy dance. ‘YES!’
  • Taking in a deep breath, you stepped into the office and greeted him, “Hi Sin, how’s your day going?”
  • Sin glanced at you and smiled, “Hell and heaven may differ, but both serve a meaningful purpose.”
  • You tilted your head and blinked in utter confusion. ‘Why is he replying in Japanese?’
  • Everyone in Starless knew that you spoke English, so why would Sin answer in Japanese? Though you weren’t well-versed in Japanese, you knew the basics, and you could tell that Sin’s reply was FAR from “I’m okay” or “I’m not okay”.
  • You brushed aside his words and tried again, “So, I heard Team W is performing tomorrow. I’m so excited to see you guys on stage!”
  • Once again, he replied in Japanese, “Even the sun, the giver of life, has the power to destroy.”
  • This time you tilted your head and sighed, “Sin, you do know that I don’t speak Japanese, right?”
  • He simply smiled.
  • You flashed a grin, thinking the issue was resolved, and asked him, “What are you making?”
  • Sin turned his back to you and continued preparing his tea. To your dismay, he replied yet again in Japanese.
  • Quietly sighing, you hung your head low and pouted. ‘All I ask for is a simple conversation. I finally get time alone with you, and this happens. Why didn’t I learn Japanese?’
  • You were almost on the verge of tears as your head spun around from all the confusion.
  • Akira walked into the room to grab a quick snack from the refrigerator but stopped when he saw you. He tapped you on your shoulder and asked in a whisper, “What’s wrong?”
  • Leaning closer to him, you whispered in a shaky voice, “Could you be my translator?”
  • Akira raised one eyebrow and glanced over at Sin, “For him? No way. I speak Japanese but still can’t understand him. Sorry, cutie, but I can’t help ya.”
  • He quickly grabbed his food from the fridge and almost ran out of the room, afraid that you’ll ask him again to translate.
  • You quietly sat on the sofa, wondering where you went wrong, until Sin handed you a cup of his famous tea.
  • Drinking the tea helped you relax, but you were still upset about not being able to hold a conversation with him.
  • Unei suddenly rushed into the room and told Sin that Kokuyou is looking for him.
  • Sin looked at you and said something in Japanese before making his way to the door. You glanced in Unei’s direction, hoping he will translate, but the nervous boy just shook his head.
  • Sin stopped for a brief moment at the door and looked back at you, “Thank you for being patient with me.”
  • ‘He spoke in English.’ It dawned on you that Sin was testing you the entire time, but him speaking to you in everyday English gave you hope.
