Child MC 6: MC Thinks Diav is Her Dad

Prompt: Religious child female mc she sees Diavolo and then says, “Daddy…?” The reason being that in a pocket watch (that was her dad’s) has a picture of her papa with mama holding baby MC, and her father was a spitting image of Diavolo! How would the demon bros, royals, and angels react? She’s super friendly around Diavolo, thinking he’s her long-dead papa!

Gender: fem!child!Reader

Warning: Mild angst.

A/N: Platonic.

Diavolo

  • Heartbroken to know that a child lost her father at such a young age – he can relate and knows the feeling is painful.
  • Doesn’t know if it’s a good decision on his part, but Diavolo acts like a father figure to the child. He doesn’t have the heart to tell them he is not her father, especially after seeing her smile.
  • He knows his decision might hurt him in the end, and someday he might have to face MC’s religious side, but until that day, he wants to protect her smile.

Barbatos

  • Cute, but the butler doesn’t like where this is going. He doesn’t need his powers to see the future of this relationship.
  • Diavolo’s heart will not be able to tolerate any pain MC gives him in the future, even if the prince thinks he is prepared to face the consequences of his actions.
  • He will play the villain if he needs to, but Barb will not let MC and Diav develop a close relationship, especially not a father and child -even if it means breaking Diavolo’s trust.

Lucifer

  • The irony – a religious human referring to the prince of demons as dad.
  • Can’t deny that he finds the situation adorable but knows the dangers of Diavolo becoming attached to the child. If she grows up and realizes who he is, MC might hurt him, and Diav will not be able to tolerate the pain.
  • Luci hopes MC’s religious side doesn’t consume her when she gets older – for Diavolo’s sake. He supports Barb’s attempts to sever the developing bond.

Mammon

  • Crying? He is not crying. Why would anyone cry at seeing a child tear up and run into the arms of someone who she thinks is her deceased dad? There are just some invisible onions in front of him that are making his eyes water.
  • Mammon might not be the sharpest, but even he knows it’s not wise for Diav to get attached to her.
  • He doesn’t blame Diavolo, and honestly, he would do the same if he was in the prince’s place, but she is religious, and well, he is the devil.

Levi

  • Why does this feel like the plot of an anime?
  • He wants to say the story will be heartwarming and give fuzzy feelings, but for some reason, he sees the plot taking an angst turn.
  • A religious human bonding with the ruler of hell can only end in tragedy. He isn’t the only one thinking this, right? RIGHT?
  • Levi wants someone to stop this before his gaming buddy breaks into thousands of tiny puzzle pieces that no one will be able to put back together.

Satan

  • This feels like the start of a heartwarming book – where a caring man and a heartbroken child develop a beautiful bond. The reader will feel stinging in their eyes and a fuzzy feeling in their heart.
  • Then, the author will take all those beautiful feelings, ball them up, and toss them into a raging fire by throwing a heart-wrenching turn. Like the child realizing their “father” is actually a demon, or the “father” having to push the child away due to their worlds being different.
  • This is not going to end well, and Satan can only hope Diavolo realizes it before it’s too late – for his sake as well as the child’s.

Asmo

  • This is by far the cutest moment he has ever seen. Takes out his phone and records it, along with the expressions of everyone in the room.
  • But why do some people in the room look tense? This was a happy moment that everyone should awww at, right?
  • The more he thinks about it, the more uncomfortable he feels. This wasn’t going to end well for Diav, was it? But maybe…just maybe, things will work out in the end.

Beel

  • Smiles ear to ear.
  • Beel’s respect for Diavolo increases, especially after the prince decides to play the role of the father to protect her feelings.
  • Seeing Diavolo and the child hug reminds him of how Lucifer used to take care of the brothers when they were still kids.

Belphie

  • Is Diavolo stupid or something? Why does he think pretending to be the child’s father is a good idea? What is he going to do when she realizes that he lied to her?
  • Also, she is a human, and he is a demon. How does he plan to explain that to her when she grows up and questions him?
  • Whatever. It’s not like he cares. He wants nothing to do with Diavolo or the human child.

Simeon

  • Such a touching moment. Before coming to Devildom, Simeon would have never guessed he would see such a sweet scene in a place where demons reside.
  • He wonders what Michael would have thought if he saw this moment. Diavolo has such a kind heart, despite being the spawn of the devil – to the point where he almost seems…angelic.
  • Sometimes, Simeon wonders if there is a hidden side the prince doesn’t show. Regardless, Simeon can’t help but feels uneasy. Even if he tries to look at the situation in different ways, it doesn’t feel right, considering MC is religious. He can only pray and hope the future doesn’t hold dark surprises.

Luke

  • Speechless. Luke feels like he is dreaming…or are his eyes deceiving him? The prince of the demons is hugging a human child because she thinks he is her deceased father.
  • Since when are demons nice? In the Celestial Realm, the older angels always taught that demons are evil and dark creatures. Were…they lying? What else have they lied about? Wait, Diavolo isn’t being nice just for show, right?
  • Luke feels like someone pulled the ground from under his feet. He is so confused that he doesn’t even register that Simeon is kneeling beside him and asking if he is okay.
