Finally, the day you got to see your boyfriend’s first basketball game at NRC had arrived, and you were excited. Despite that, you couldn’t stop yourself from feeling nervous. What if they don’t win, and Ace gets upset? What if you can’t cheer properly for Ace? What if- you shook your head almost as if you were trying to physically shake out all the negative thoughts.
“No, everything is going to be alright,” you whispered under your breath. “Ace is going to win!”
As soon as the gym doors opened, you hurried inside and chose a seat near the center of the court. Taking out your phone, you shakily typed out a few words of encouragement and sent them to Ace.
Go get them, Ace! You’re the best and always will be the best! <3
Within a few minutes, all the players poured out onto the basketball court, looking as determined as ever. Not long after that, only three names could be heard echoing in the gym. “Go, Floyd! Go, Jamil! Go, Ace! Go, Floyd! Go, Jamil! Go, Ace!” You got caught up in the excitement as well and absentmindedly chanted their names. The three men were focused on the game, but it was evident from their smiles that they appreciated the support.
Before you realized it, the game was over, and you couldn’t help but marvel at how quickly time flew by. While the supporters exited the gym, you quietly snuck towards the area the players left through. Walking further down the hallway, you hear a few men talking about the game.
“What do we have here~.” The tallest of them said when he met your eyes.
Another teammate curtly said, “Fans are not allowed back here. I will have to ask you to leave.”
“S-Sorry, I came to see Ace…,“ you said, trying your best to control your shaking voice. To your luck, your boyfriend came out of the locker room at the exact time.
“(Y/n)? What are you doing here?”
Before you could reply, Floyd spoke, “Did you say (y/n)? So you are Ace’s girlfriend?”
Jamil smiled, “In that case, we should thank you for coming to the game today.”
Their sudden change in manners surprised you, but seeing your confused expressions, Scarabia’s vice-leader elaborated, “Ace told us you were coming to see the game, and he asked us to win the game.”
“H-Hey, you guys aren’t supposed to tell her th-” Ace started, but Floyd covered his mouth and beckoned Jamil to continue.
“He was determined to win so he could impress you.”
“Heey, Shrimpy, your cheeks look like coral,” the tall man laughed. “Jamil, maybe we should leave them alone…Ace probably wants a kiss from her.”
Though he usually didn’t indulge in such jokes, Jamil gave into the teasing atmosphere and nodded, “Let’s give them their space.”
“S-Sorry about t-them, they’re just…um…”
Ace couldn’t believe his teammates would put him in such a situation, but before he could properly give an excuse for their behavior, your lips covered his.
“Congrats on winning. That was a great game!”
For a moment, your boyfriend remained silent, studying your ear-to-ear smile and red cheeks. “If this is the prize I get for winning, then I will win every game this season…”
