Why Does Thunder Exist?
Prompt: Could I please get headcanons for all the BSTS guys with a girlfriend who is afraid of thunder?
Gender: fem!Reader
Prologue:
You seemed tense since you heard the words “thunderstorm” in the news report. He wondered if you were afraid of thunder and got his answer when the first thunder of the storm boomed in the sky.
Kei
- You dove onto the bed and curled into a tight ball, trembling at the sudden rumble in the sky.
- Kei made his way to the bed before lying down behind you. He securely wrapped his arms around your waist from behind and pulled you close to his chest. “Please don’t be afraid. I won’t let anything hurt you, not even thunder.”
Sotetsu
- Gasping, you ran to your bed and quickly hid under the blanket, hoping the storm would pass soon.
- Sotetsu’s expression softened as he took a seat at the edge of the mattress. He began to tell storm, lightning, and thunder jokes until you stuck your head out of the blanket. “Last one, why did Thor file a police report? Because someone stole his thunder.”
Ginsei
- You ran into your room, leaving Ginsei in shock. He hopped to his feet and rushed into your bedroom, but you were nowhere to be found. After searching for a while, your boyfriend found you hiding in the closet.
- Taking a seat next to you, Ginsei pulled you onto his lap, facing him, and covered your ears. “Please, focus only on me.”
Gui
- Gui noticed you flinching every time the thunder shook the house. He didn’t understand why the sound would scare you but didn’t like the frightened expression on your face.
- He placed his hands on your ears and gave you a soft smile when your eyes met his. “Don’t…be scared.”
Yakou
- Yakou looked down at your tightly curled hands and saw them shaking. Why didn’t you tell him about your phobia before? He gently placed his hand on your shoulder and smiled brightly at you as if telling you he was here for you.
- While stroking your shoulder, he began to sing your favorite song and didn’t stop singing until the storm ended.
Yoshino
- You felt numb, and though you didn’t show any physical signs of fear, your nervous expressions told Yoshino everything. He took your hands in his warm ones and gave you an “it will be okay” smile.
- He started to sing calming songs for you, trying his best to distract your mind from the storm outside.
Kokuyou
- Kokuyou was caught off guard when he heard soft sobs coming from you. Sighing, he patted your head, but seeing that wasn’t enough, he scooted closer to you, lifted you by the waist, and sat you between his legs.
- “Oi, don’t cry…” He pressed your back against his chest and covered your ears before resting his chin on your head.
Sin
- Your body tensed up, and your shoulders scrunched together. Sin watched you trembling with your eyes squeezed shut and sighed quietly before heading to the bathroom.
- A few minutes later, he returned and scooped you up in his arms. While walking to the bathroom, he whispered, “Let’s take a bath together. It’s alright to be afraid, but rest assured, I don’t plan on leaving your side.”
Akira
- You pulled the blankets over your body and curled up as tightly as you could, leaving Akira staring at you with wide eyes.
- After a while, he crawled under the blankets and pulled you into his arms. “Where do you think you’re goin’ without me? You could’ve hid in my arms~ I can comfort you more than a blanket can. Want me to sing a song?”
Takami
- Your heart was racing, and as a result, your body started rocking back and forth unnaturally. You didn’t want to act weak in front of him, but thunder…why did it have to be thunder?
- Worried that you might faint, he shifted closer to you, wrapped one arm around your shoulder, and whispered, “(Y/n), take deep breaths. Inhale, exhale. Inhale, exhale. I know it’s difficult to face your fears, but please try.”
Taiga
- You closed your eyes, wrapped your arms around yourself, and started trembling. Why did thunder have to exist? Make it go away.
- Taiga blinked a couple of times before scrambling to remove his headphones. He pulled out his phone, plugged in the headphones, slid them over your ears, and played a list of your favorite songs at a loud but comfortable volume.
Rindou
- Your palms got sweaty, and though you tried to stay calm, your body acted on its own and started trembling. Another loud boom shook you to the core, making you yelp.
- Rindou got down on his knees in front of you and took firm hold of both of your hands, giving them a little squeeze. “(Y/n), open your eyes and focus on me. Hang on just a while longer, and the storm will pass.”
- With those words, he sang your favorite songs, never once breaking eye contact with you.
Maica
- You felt your stomach churn at the sound of thunder and ran to the bathroom. Just for a split second, Maica was startled, but he didn’t waste his time and chased after you.
- He kneeled next to you and held your hair back as you hovered over the toilet. Once your nausea lessened, he helped you back to the room and sat you on the sofa. Maica took a seat close to you and wrapped a fluffy blanket around both of your bodies. Maybe a little warmth might help you feel secure.
Menou
- When you started crying, Menou stared at you blankly, not expecting tears as a reaction to fear. He kissed you on the head before running to the bathroom, drawing a bath, and tossing a calming bath bomb into the water.
- Returning to the room, he led you into the bathroom while stroking your back. “Please, don’t cry, (y/n). Whenever I need to calm down, I take a bath. Would you like to take one? The water is very warm. Also…would you prefer to take one alone, or am I allowed to join you?”
Sinju
- You ran close to your bed, dropped to the ground, and crawled under the bed. The darkness under the bed made you feel a little secure. Sinju watched you with wide eyes but quickly joined you under the bed.
- Wrapping his arms around you, he rested his chin on your head as you hid your face in his chest, taking in his sweet scent. “Don’t worry, (y/n)…I will protect you from the thunder. I wish I could blow the storm away…”
Nekome
- In a flash, you disappeared into the bathroom, leaving Nekome frozen on the sofa. Were you that scared of the thunder? Why haven’t you mentioned this to him before?
- Nekome made his way to the bathroom and found you curled up in your bathtub. He kneeled in front of the tub and rested his elbows on the edge. “When Taiga and I were kids, he would get scared so easily. You know what I would do to distract him?”
- Nekome flexed his fingers and smiled before tickling you in all your sensitive spots.
Mokuren
- You clung onto them, catching Mokuren off guard. They wondered if thunder was the only thing that scared you – meaning, was it the thunder or loud sounds in general?
- Mokuren stood up, pulling you to your feet with them, and made their way to the speakers in their room. They turned on the music and gracefully pulled you into their arms before dipping you. “Would you like to dance with me, (y/n)? I shall show you such a great time that you will forget about your fears.”
Qu
- You felt a stabbing pain in your chest and pressed the flat of your palm over your head, wincing. Qu worriedly watched you with a pained expression, “(Y/n)…?
- He loosely wrapped one arm around you, giving you room to breathe, and rubbed soothing circles on your back with his free hand. “The thunder can be frightening, but it will pass soon. Can you hang on until then?”
Hari
- Every muscle in your body tensed up, and under your breath, you asked the thunder to go away. Hari pressed his lips to your forehead before sitting you on his lap.
- He gently pressed the palms of his hands against your ears and gave a small smile, “Give it a few more minutes, and the storm will pass. Until then, you are welcome to stare at my face.”
Kasumi
- You pulled the blanket over your head and wrapped your arms around yourself. All you could do was close your eyes and try to drown out the thunder.
- Kasumi knocked on the blanket while saying, “Knock knock, can I come in?”
- Before you could answer, he crawled under the blanket and sat behind you with his chest pressed to your back. Kasumi rested his chin on your shoulder and whispered, “Hm, what can I do to make you less frightened of the thunder? Would you like hugs? Kisses? Should I take off my shirt and dance?”
Zakuro
- You immediately closed your eyes and covered your ears, bringing your knees to your chest. Zakuro’s expression was a mixture of pain and irritation; pain from seeing your frightened state and irritation due to the storm.
- Leaning closer to you, he began to tease, “Ara Ara, what is this? My beloved princess is afraid of thunder? The audacity of the thunder! What should your brave prince do? Should he don his armor and battle the storm? Should he sing you a song? Should he flirt with you? Or…should he divert your mind in a more intimate way?”
Mizuki
- You started crying, sending Mizuki into full panic mode. He was really bad at comforting you whenever you cried, but this was the first time you were crying out of fear.
- His chest felt heavy as he tried to figure out what he could do to help you out. Cupping your cheeks, he quickly wiped your tears and made funny faces. “Y-Ya, don’t cry…if ya won’t stop, then I’ll cry with ya.”
Kongou
- Your heart was beating loudly and out of control, making you feel light-headed. Kongou rested his hand on your head and brought your head to his chest, and through his t-shirt, you heard his heartbeats.
- He wrapped a fuzzy blanket around your body before protectively encircling his arms around you. Kongou wasn’t sure how exactly to help you, but he hoped this was enough for you to relax a little.
Heath
- You felt breathless and gasped for air, sending Heath into a panic. But he quickly regained his composure and hugged you close to his trembling body. “Y-You have to regulate your breathing…please…don’t faint.”
- He knew the pain of being breathless and didn’t want you to feel that pain, worse yet, for you to faint due to the lack of oxygen. Under his breath, he cursed the storm and prayed for it to pass soon.
Rico
- Rico saw you struggling to breathe, and the struggle soon turned into hyperventilating. Holding his breath, he looked around the room to see how he could help you. He jumped to his feet, closed all the window shades, and turned up the TV’s volume to try and drown the thunder out as much as possible.
- “H-Hey, it’s okay…the storm will pass soon. Here,” he whispered and handed you a paper bag. While you tried to regulate your breathing, Rico soothingly rubbed your back.
Ran
- You jumped and clung to his arm as tightly as you could. Ran stared at you for a second before resting his cheek against the top of your head. “So you are scared of the thunder. Do you know what I think of whenever I hear the thunder? I think heaven is having a dance party with the bass turned up extra loud.”
- Without warning, Ran dug his fingers into your ribcage and tickled you. When you squealed and asked him to stop, he shook his head, “I won’t stop until you give all your attention to me and stop thinking about the bass in the sky.”
