Awkward Moments
Prompt: Caught in an odd moment…may or may not cause misunderstanding.

- Kokuyou asked you to meet him at a convenience store near his apartment. Humming to yourself, you reached the store but stopped when you saw your boyfriend.
- His back was turned to you, and he was bent down slightly. Feminine hands rested on his cheeks, and from the angle you were standing in, it seemed like he was kissing her.
- With a loud gasp, you stormed towards them. As soon as you got close, you were prepared to grab the back of his shirt, push the woman away, and yell in his face. But the sight of the woman made you freeze.
- The grandmother was squishing Kokuyou’s cheek, much to his dismay. When she saw you, she smiled sweetly. “This must be your lover. Then, I will get going. Enjoy your date, and you are such a sweet boy, Kokuyou.”
- One of your eyebrows raised at her words. Kokuyou and sweet didn’t belong in the same sentence, but what had he done to make the lady think he was sweet?
- Once the grandma left, you looked at him questioningly. Kokuyou looked away and cleared his throat. “Let’s get going…”
- “Hey, Koku…” you started, but he interrupted you.
- “You saw and heard nothing,” Kokuyou said and started walking away. You could have sworn there was a light red tint on his cheeks.
- Sinju said he would be back in a minute, but it had been almost 10 minutes. The two of you needed to reach the train station, and at this rate, you would miss the train and the movie.
- With a loud huff, you stormed into his bedroom, ready to yell at him for taking his sweet time. But as soon as you opened the door, you saw Sinju standing in front of the mirror with his back turned to you.
- He was not wearing anything, and his derriere was on full display for you. When he saw your reflection in the mirror, he gasped and turned around, accidentally revealing his front side to you.
- You squealed softly and turned your back to him, apologizing for barging in. “S-Sorry, you were taking too long…”
- “S-Sorry, um…I was…uh…give me a few more minutes…” he said, struggling to get his words out.
- “Y-Yeah…”
- For the rest of the day, you couldn’t get the image of Sinju out of your head, and he couldn’t meet your gaze. What was he doing in front of the mirror naked?
- You stood behind Kongou with a wide smile, ready to surprise him. It was your first dating anniversary, and you had thought of the perfect plan.
- He was on his phone, so he didn’t hear you coming up behind him and continued to speak to the person. “I will see you tomorrow evening. I love you too…”
- His words caused you to freeze. Was he cheating on you? For how long? Why was he meeting someone in the evening?
- Ending the call, Kongou turned around and was startled by your presence. But when he saw your tears, he had a moment of panic.
- “W-What’s wrong?”
- “You…you are cheating on me!?” You loudly said, startling him further.
- “W-What?” Kongou stuttered and took a moment to think about why you were accusing him of something so heinous. “Oh…wait…(y/n), no! It’s a misunderstanding.”
- “Really? Then want to tell me who you were talking to on the phone? Your new girlfriend?” You sobbed.
- “M-My…grand…mother…” he laughed nervously, rubbing the back of his head. “She is coming to our home tomorrow evening. And she wants to meet you…”
- “Grandmother? Oh…uh…ha…ha…”
- You couldn’t remember for how long you and Kongou stared at each other, not knowing what more to say.
- Your groan echoed through your bedroom, causing Kasumi to freeze. Countless thoughts went through his mind. What was he going to find once he walked into your room?
- Gulping loudly, Kasumi reached a shaky hand and slowly turned your doorknob. His face was red, and his breath was heavy.
- Once he stepped inside, he saw you squatting, your legs parted, and your arm wrapped around something. Taking a step closer, Kasumi’s eyes widened when he realized you were trying to lift a heavy box.
- He quickly covered his face and sighed, embarrassed that his mind was going elsewhere.
- “Oh, Kasumi! Perfect timing. Can you help me…” Your voice trailed off when you noticed his red cheeks. “What’s wrong?”
- “N-Nothing…” he laughed nervously and quickly walked to the box, picking it up with ease. Kasumi mentally slapped himself for thinking ‘unnecessary’ thoughts.
- Gui was excited to give you a gift. He knew you liked dogs very much and had found the best gift for you. That, too, all on his own.
- He handed you the box with a warm smile, hoping you would like it. Opening the box, you saw a red shirt and quickly opened it to see a white silhouette of a dachshund. A smile tugged on your lips until you read the words written above the dog.
- Have you seen my wiener?
- Your eyes widened as your cheeks turned red. Moving your eyes to Gui, you noticed him looking nervous.
- “Do…you not…like the gift?”
- “N-No, it’s great. Thank you,” you replied, trying to force a smile. Who would explain to him that the T-shirt had a double meaning? Even if you did, you doubt he would understand.
