Bottled Up Emotions
Prompt: HCs for mc who bottles up their emotions and haven’t cry for years and have break down and start crying loud?
Gender: gn!Reader
Warning: Mentions of breakdown.
A/N: Luke platonic.
- Just for a brief second, the Avatar of Pride is shocked. All he said was bottling up feelings is not healthy, and some of his brothers need to learn that. Did he say something wrong?
- He quickly encircles his arms around your shaking body, brings you close to his chest, and strokes the back of your head. Bottling up feelings…did those words trigger a response in you? Had you been hiding your pain and suffering in the depths of your heart?
- Lucifer quietly listens to your pain-filled sobs and whimpers. Quietly watching your body trembling. Quietly thinking about what he could do to help lessen your pain.
- His heart aches.
- When you start to calm down, Lucifer doesn’t ask you any questions; instead, he takes his handkerchief out of his pocket and gently cleans your face.
- “(Y/n), you have a special place in my heart. When I made you the promise to always be there for you, I meant every word,” he cups your face and looks into your eyes. “You have no need to hide your feelings from me. I wish to know when you are happy so that I may partake in your happiness. I wish to know when you are sad so that I can wipe your tears and hold you close.”
- Lucifer embraces you again, one hand around your waist, the pressed against the back of your head. He buries his face into your hair, lowering his guard and showing you a vulnerable side of his.
- “Please, do not hide anything from me.”
- Mammon barges into your room, expecting to see you doing your homework, instead, he finds you kneeling on the rug. The moment he asks if you are okay, tears start spilling out of your eyes.
- He immediately begins to panic, a flood of questions coursing through his mind. Are you not feeling well? Are you homesick? Is one of his brothers responsible for this? Did someone hurt you? Who does he need to beat up?
- Mammon runs to you, drops on his knees, and throws his arms around you. The louder your sobs get, the tighter he holds you.
- Please don’t cry. Please. Mammon asks what he can do to take your pain away. Do you want him to tell you a joke? How about pulling a prank on Lucifer? That’ll make you laugh, right? Oh, how about you watch him eat Solomon’s food? That’ll definitely make you laugh. Whatever it takes to take your pain away, he will do. All you have to do is tell him.
- The moment you stop crying, he wipes your tears with the sleeve of his jacket and asks for the reason behind your sadness.
- “You trust me, don’tcha? Don’t…keep your feelings inside. It hurts seein’ you like this, but it hurts even more knowin’ you’re pretendin’ to be alright. It’s ok to not be ok.”
- Mammon takes firm hold of your hands and pecks your cheek. “I’ll do everythin’ I can to cheer ya up, so don’t go hidin’ your feelings from me. (Y/n)…I love you…and always will. Don’t forget that, ‘kay?”
- As you and Levi watch anime in his room, he steals glances at you. Why have you been acting so distant for the past few days? Did he do something wrong? Did he say something to hurt your feelings?
- “(Y/n), did I mess up? I am really sorry…”
- A pang of guilt rings through your heart. Why is he apologizing? Why does he always take everything onto himself? Levi, this is not your fault…it’s –
- You blink away the unfamiliar feeling in your eyes as you rest your hand on top of his. “Remember that episode we saw a few days ago? The one where the main character can no longer bottled up their feelings? I…am like that MC. Levi…I can’t hold back anymore…”
- His eyes widen at your confession, but he manages to mumble, “Then don’t.”
- The moment you break and rest your forehead against his shoulder, Levi squeezes his eyes shut. He knew about your habit of bottling up your feelings but couldn’t bring himself to ask you.
- “I…know how you feel…and I know what it feels like to bottle up feelings. I may not be the best person to console you, but I am here for you. If you can trust me…share your feelings with me. I l-love you, (y/n)…”
- He securely wraps his arms around you and cries with you, and even after the two of you stop crying, Levi refuses to break the embrace.
- “That was quite an emotional scene. The poor character seems to have suffered quite a bit through her lifetime. Wouldn’t you agree?” Satan asks as he reads over the last two lines in the chapter once more. Tears stained her cheeks as the restraints she placed on her heart gradually began to come undone, one by one. The frail woman fell to her knees and held her arm to the sky, thanking the heavens for her freedom.
- Satan glances at you and is surprised to find you staring at the page with wide eyes. “(Y/n)?”
- Freedom? Restraints? Relief? Tears? You feel a knot in your chest and a burning sensation in your eyes. No more. You are tired of holding everything and forcing yourself to smile and stay strong. No more. Closing your eyes, you start weeping.
- Satan calmly sets the book aside and hugs you, wondering if you feel the same way as the main character in the book. Though he seems composed, Satan feels his heart twisting tighter and tighter as each minute passes. To think he didn’t realize you were holding so much pain in your heart.
- He rubs soothing circles on your back until you exhaust your tears. “I am sorry for not seeing your pain sooner. You don’t have to bottle up your feelings or hide them from me – I will not judge you in any way, nor will I criticize you for feeling pain. So please, open your heart to me and trust me.”
- Asmo peeks into your room to tell you about his newest photo shoot, but he finds you curled up on your bed. Thinking you are having a bad day, he sits at the edge of the bed and touches your shoulder. “Sweetie, what’s wrong? What can I do to help?”
- The second you hear his voice, you lower your guard and start to cry your heart out. Though Asmo panics, he shifts closer to you and strokes your hair, quietly watching your shoulders trembling.
- At first, Asmo thinks something happened at RAD, but the longer you cry, the more puzzled he becomes. The pain in your sobs is far beyond “just having a bad day”.
- He squeezes his eyes shut and rests his forehead against your arm. Why does it feel like you haven’t cried for years and are freeing all the tears at once? What can he do to ease your pain?
- After a while, Asmo helps you sit up, gets a soft towel from your bathroom, and gently cleans your face. He can only guess how much pain you are in and can’t bring himself to look into your eyes.
- He ties his arm around your shoulder and rests his forehead against yours, “Sweetie, you know I love you more than myself, right? You know I am here for you, right? You don’t have to fight on your own – not anymore. Don’t burden your beautiful heart by sealing off your feelings. Share your pain with me, and I promise to help you through it.”
- You have managed to hold back for years, so why is it getting difficult now? Why is Beel’s presence affecting you this much? Why do you want to drop all the walls around your heart and break?
- You are so lost in your thoughts that you don’t notice the Avatar of Gluttony watching as you stare at the untouched food on your plate. “(Y/n), you are not hungry?”
- Forcing a small smile, you grab your spoon with your shaking hand and lift it to your mouth. Beel stops eating and watches bits of the food on your spoon falling back onto your plate.
- “(Y/n)? Are…you okay?”
- His question pushes you to your breaking point, and you burst into tears. Beel immediately jumps to his feet and throws his arms around you. The loud your cries get, the closer he presses you against his body. He is shaken to the core.
- After you shed your last tear, Beel wipes your cheeks and nose with the sleeve of his jacket. “Did someone hurt you? If they did, I am not going to spare them.”
- When you don’t reply to his question, Beel lowers his eyes, “I don’t like seeing tears in your eyes…it hurts a lot, but that doesn’t mean I want you to hide your sadness from me. I love you…and will do anything to make you happy and keep your safe.”
- Beel kisses your cheek and once again wraps his strong arms around you. “What can I do to make you smile?”
- After all the hell you have been through, all your suffering, forcing yourself to swallow every shred of sadness that came your way…after everything, you finally found someone who understands you, cares about you and loves you.
- As you watch Belphie sleeping, a sudden wave of emotions floods your thoughts. You feel the chains around your heart loosen, and tears begin to pour out of your stinging eyes.
- Belphie’s eyes shoot open, and for a moment, he stares at you. Your boyfriend isn’t sure if this is reality or a nightmare, so he places a shaking hand on the side of your head – you feel real, so do your tears and pain.
- Why? Why are you crying? He shifts closer to you and wraps you in his warmth. Belphie listens to your sobs and waits for you to stop crying.
- “What’s wrong?”
- “I…have been through a lot, and…kept my feelings bottled up for a long time. I never thought I would find anyone who would love me…and accept me. Thank you, Belphie.”
- The corners of his lips slightly curl up as he shakes his head, “Thank you for coming into my life. You are nothing less than an angel, and I love you.”
- He pauses for a second and kisses the top of your head, “Share all your feelings with me, no matter how bitter or sad they might be. Remember, you are no longer alone – I am and always will be with you.”

- Diavolo turns his attention from his papers to you and sees you looking out the window, but your gaze is distant. Feelings something is not right, he gets up and makes his way to you. He rests his chin on your shoulder from behind and asks, “What are you looking at?”
- “My past.”
- Your words surprise him, but the prince waits for you to continue.
- “Diav, what if you learned someone close to you has a habit of bottling up their pain, what would you say?”
- He momentarily grows silent and moves his eyes to your face. “I would tell them I don’t like that habit of theirs. I want to know when they are in pain and to let me help ease their suffering. And most of all, I love them more than anything and will do anything for their happiness.”
- “I see.”
- “(Y/n), I love you more than anything and will do anything for your happiness,” he whispers, “please stop bottling your feelings, it’s okay to cry and be sad.”
- You slowly turn your head to him, your eyes as wide as can be. Your vision begins to get cloudy, but your gaze never leaves the prince’s face. Diav hugs you from behind and rests his forehead on the side of your head. He doesn’t move or release you from his hug even after you calm down.
- “If you are happy, smile. If you are sad, cry. If you want to scream, scream. No matter how subtle or extreme your feeling, promise that you will share them with me.” A small smile forms on his lips, “I have been waiting for you to open your heart to me. Don’t think I didn’t notice…no more bottling up your feelings…please.”

- As you help Barbatos in the kitchen, he watches you out of the corners of his eyes. The moment you walked in, he knew something was wrong and thought you would tell him. But even now, you were forcing yourself to stay composed.
- “Is something bothering you?”
- “My heart feels heavy. Every time I feel like crying, I bottled up the urges and bury the bottle deep inside my heart. No one cared, not about my pain, my tears…about me. Until I met you…but Barbatos, I can’t hold it back anymore…”
- “There is no need for you to hold back or hide your emotions.”
- His words serve as a final push, and in the next second, you squeeze your eyes shut and let the tears drop onto the marble island.
- Barb sets his knife down and walks to you, his eyes hidden under his bangs. He envelops you in a warm but firm hug and refuses to let go until your tears run dry.
- “From this day forth, do not bury anything in your heart, do not hide anything from me. All your pain, sadness…anguish is mine, and my happiness is yours…now and forever.”
- “(Y/n), do you trust me?” Simeon asks out of the blue as the two of you take a stroll through the castle gardens.
- “I do.”
- The angel gives a small smile and stops in front of the lake, admiring the water glistening under the moonlight. “Trusting people means being comfortable enough to share your feelings and pain with them. Trusting someone in a relationship means opening yourself and not hiding anything.”
- Simeon turns to you and rests his hands on your shoulders, “Every time I look into your eyes, I can see an unsettling pain in them. I am not asking you to tell me what ails you, but how much more do you plan to torture your heart?”
- How did he…? As you look at him in shock, the angel cups your cheeks and whispers in a shaky voice, “Please, stop hurting yourself…give your pain to me.”
- You manage to call out his name once before tears race down your eyes. All the bottles you buried in your heart surface one by one and crack. As you pour your feelings out, Simeon embraces you and reminds you just how much he loves you.
- Luke stands in front of Simeon with his lips parted – what did he just say? No, why would you have said something like that? The young angel spins on his heels and runs to the House of Lamentation, not stopping until he is in your room.
- “Luke? What are you doing here?”
- “Wh-Why do you say no one cares about your feelings? You are wrong to think that!” He steps closer to you with his fists curled, “I wasn’t looking forward to visiting Devildom, but when I met you…I was happy. The more I got to know you, the more I realized how amazing you are. You always help everyone, look out for the brothers, and put our needs before yours. That’s why…I said you are like a sibling to me.”
- You kneel on the rug in front of him, but Luke doesn’t give you a chance to speak.
- “I care about your feelings! When you are sad, I feel sad. When you are happy, I am happy. I promised to be your guardian angel for a reason,” the angel wipes his tears with the back of his hands, “I care about you…and love you lots. So, don’t…don’t say no one cares about you.”
- The angel’s innocent and heartfelt words are too much to handle, and without realizing it, you start crying. Luke doesn’t try to stop you; instead, he wraps his small arms around your neck and cries along with you.
- He always knew what was in your heart but never pushed you to tell him. Solomon thought one day you would free your heart and confide in him, and though he wanted to give you time, it was getting more and more difficult for him to watch you suffer alone.
- “(Y/n), can we talk?”
- The sorcerer’s sudden question catches you off guard. “About?”
- “Your unhealthy habit. I’m sorry for bringing this up so suddenly, but I can’t continue to watch you hurt yourself,” Solomon takes a firm hold of your hand and sighs. “Cry, scream, have a breakdown, but please stop hiding your sadness inside your heart.”
- Before you can deny his words, he presses his lips to the back of your hand. “I might not always show it, but I care deeply about you. Seeing you in pain hurts. So, what do I need to do to get you to stop tormenting yourself?”
- You step closer to him, rest your forehead on his chest, and mumble an apology before screaming into his chest and freeing your tears. A sad smile appears on his lips as Solomon embraces you with no signs of releasing you any time soon.
