As Levi finished up the final touches on the costume, he smiled to himself. It had been a long time since he had worked on a project that he was genuinely passionate about. He still needed to add more details to the Ruri-Chan costume, but he was confident that his designed outfit would help MC to win the cosplay contest.

But why was he helping a normie little human nun to win the costume contest? The answer was more complicated than Levi could explain. Since he came to Devildom, he stayed in his room, away from everyone, including his brothers, as he was an emotional mess. Despite that, Levi was sure of one thing: no one understood him. Until a cute human child dressed like a nun knocked on his bedroom door to introduce herself to him.

A child nun as an exchange student in Devildom – Levi’s head spun at the thought. Which genius thought it was a bright idea to bring a child to hell, let alone a religious one? Though he had no interest in talking to her, the girl seemed intrigued by him for a reason he didn’t even know. What fascination could a child have with a shut-in otaku? He could ask her for the answer but never felt the need to question her.

Then came the fateful day when he had a breakdown remembering his past in the Celestial Realm. A capable general had turned into a shut-in otaku who was good for nothing, emotionally a mess, and an embodiment of envy. Unknown to him, MC had entered his bedroom and quietly watched him cry with a pained expression on her cute face. The next moment, Levi felt tiny arms wrap around his neck.

He couldn’t remember when was the last time someone gave him a hug. Her warm gesture only made him want to cry harder, but Levi refrained himself as he felt embarrassed breaking down in front of a child. But MC didn’t let go. She kept her arms around him and assured him that it was okay to be vulnerable and that he didn’t need to hide his true feelings or be ashamed of who he was.

“Levi is a good person. It’s okay to be yourself…don’t listen to others. I like Levi as Levi is.”

MC’s words touched Levi deeply, and he couldn’t hold back the tears any longer. Levi allowed himself to cry freely for the first time in years and let all his pent-up emotions flood out as MC comforted him. How did a child understand him better than any adult he knows? Since that day, he developed a soft spot for her and thought of her as a younger sister – someone dear to his heart whom he needed to protect.

Levi set the costume down on his worktable, and as he looked at it with satisfaction, he realized that he hadn’t seen MC in a while. He wondered where she was and why she hadn’t come by today to see him. Nevertheless, Levi couldn’t wait to see the smile on her face when she saw her Ruri-chan’s cosplay costume.
