Prologue:

As the two of you waited for the countdown, you were excited about the kiss. Your heart pounded against your chest with anticipation. As you were thinking about all the possibilities, the crowd around you started the midnight countdown.

Kalim

As the numbers count down, Kalim’s enthusiasm grows. He nearly forgets to kiss you due to this excitement.
But when he sees some of the couples leaning in to kiss, Kalim turns to you and pulls you into a hug, pressing his lips to your nose.
He doesn’t mind showering you with affection in public, but he would much rather save the deep kisses for when you two are alone.

Jamil

Jamil considers himself to be lucky to be able to start a new year with you by his side.
Right as the numbers count down from 10, he pulls you to a slightly secluded place, pressing your back against the wall.
As soon as the countdown hits 0, he presses his lips on yours but quickly slides his lips up, hinting that this was just the beginning.

Leona

Leona reluctantly comes with you to see the fireworks, but when the time for the countdown nears, he throws you over his shoulder and takes you back to his room.
He keeps track of the time, and right as the countdown hits 0, he sets you down and brings you closer, roughly capturing your lips in his.
Happy New Year, my herbivore. He whispers against your lips before kissing you once again with no intention of letting you go.

Ruggie

Ruggie can’t get enough of your affection, so he’s excited when he learns about the midnight kiss.
Even before the countdown, Ruggie pulls you into a hug. He wants all your attention to himself.
Right at 0, he wishes you a Happy New Year and nuzzles your face before connecting his lips with yours.

Jack

When Jack learns about the midnight kiss, he is speechless. Just the thought of kissing you is enough to make him nervous.
As midnight comes closer, Jack isn’t sure about kissing you, especially with so many people around.

Riddle is nervous about the kiss, especially with his dormmates being around.

Ace is looking forward to the new year but looking forward to kissing you the most.
Even before the countdown hits 0, Ace lifts and twirls you around before giving you a sweet kiss.
Ace excitedly wishes you a Happy New Year. I look forward to this year with you.

Deuce

While you watch the countdown, Deuce turns to you and stares at your face lovingly.
He thinks you look even more breathtaking than usual.
When he hears Happy New Year, Deuce pecks your lips, blushing.
He has a strong feeling that the new year is going to be great.

Cater

As everyone starts counting down, Cater gets his phone ready for a series of selfies before turning to you.
He presses one hand to the side of your face and softly presses a kiss on your lips when the countdown hits 0.
Cater was planning to give you a more playful kiss, but he also wanted to capture the kiss for his social media account.
He doesn’t want any photos of his private moments floating on the web.

Trey

Trey already knows what type of kiss he will give you way before the countdown.
He doesn’t want to walk away with a peck, but he also doesn’t want to make you uncomfortable with a deep kiss. He knows quite a few eyes will be on the two of you.
So, Trey gives you a deep, closed-lip smooch before drawing you into his arms for a warm embrace.
However, next year, Trey plans to take you somewhere more private so he can tease you a little.

Vil

Vil is fully prepared to kiss you even before the fireworks show.
Right at the end of the countdown, he cups your face and pulls you into a deep kiss.
He doesn’t stop kissing you until you are breathless.
Vil doesn’t care that the others are watching. He actually wants everyone to know that you are his.

Rook

At the start of the countdown, Rook wraps his arms around you and smiles, wishing you a Happy New Year.
At midnight, he averts your lips and trails kisses down your neck.
Rook doesn’t care that his dormmates and friends are watching. He even ignores Vil’s disapproving tsk.
He has no plans of getting too close to you in public, but as a hunter, he wants to play with prey a little.

Epel

Epel hears about the midnight tradition and instantly blushes.
He isn’t sure about kissing you, so he waits for you to kiss him at midnight.
When you press your lips against his and pull back, Epel thinks that’s the end. But when you lean in, he realizes you will kiss him again.
Epel loses his balance and falls backward with you on top of him. While the two of you are a blushing mess, the people around can’t stop laughing.

Malleus

Malleus has no idea about the kiss tradition until Lilia tells him about it.
He doesn’t want you to feel uncomfortable in any way, so when the countdown starts, he leans down and presses his forehead against yours.
Happy New Year, my beloved child of man. Malleus presses a tender kiss to your forehead.

Lilia

Lilia can’t wait for the midnight kiss, and he has to plan to make you blush.
Near midnight, Lilia presses a kiss on your cheek, but he teasingly trails kisses down to your lips.
He kisses you passionately. Lilia knows the others are watching, and he’s determined to tease you while teasing them.

Silver

While Lilia was explaining the kiss tradition to Malleus, Silver was listening as well.
He starts to wonder if it’s okay to kiss you, then wonders what type of kiss he’s going to give you. By the end, he is so dizzy that he ends up asleep.
When midnight strikes, Silver leans in and presses the most delicate peck possible.
He thinks that is enough to fulfill the tradition. Meanwhile, Lilia is facepalming in the background.

Sebek

Sebek also listened while Lilia explained the tradition.
He is too shy to kiss you in front of others, so he thinks a head kiss will suffice. Most of all, he knows Malleus will be nearby and doesn’t want to kiss you while the young dragon is watching.
At midnight, Sebek presses a kiss to your forehead only to realize that you were expecting a lip kiss.
The moment turns awkward very quickly, and once again, Lilia is facepalming in the background.

Idia

Idia preferred to stay in his room with you and watch the fireworks via a live stream, but you requested that he join you outside.
He knew about the kiss tradition but wasn’t expecting you to kiss him in public.
So, when you lean in to kiss, Idia moves his head back, avoiding the kiss.
Since you don’t give up, he has no choice but to kiss you, even if it’s a quick peck.

Ortho

You requested that Ortho come to the firework, and he happily accepted.
At midnight, you press a friendly kiss on his cheek and wish him a Happy New Year.
Ortho politely thanks you for the kiss and says I am lucky for having a friend like you. Thank you for being my friend.

Azul

Azul knows what type of kiss he’s going to give you, and he plans on sweeping you off your feet.
As the clock nears midnight, Azul pulls you to the side, and even before the countdown ends, he kisses you.
The force of his kiss is so great that you’ve to lean against the wall behind you for support. Azul wants you to start your new year by thinking of him and him only.

Jade

Jade is fascinated by the kiss tradition. He doesn’t think about what type of kiss he will give you until Floyd asks him.
He patiently waits for the clock to strike midnight before turning to you and placing a loving kiss on your forehead.
Jade gives you a heartwarming smile, wishes you a Happy New Year, and says I am looking forward to this new year with you.

Floyd

Floyd is excited about the kiss but doesn’t plan ahead.
As the countdown hits 0, and you wish him Happy New Year, he cuts your words by pressing his lips against yours.
While kissing you, he wraps his arms around your waist and lifts you off the ground.
