Disgust Through Expressions
- Wrinkling nose in general or due to foul odor
- Frowning due to dislike or disapproval
- Narrowed eyes
- Raised eyebrows in disbelief
- Scrunched eyebrows paired with a frown
- Turning head or eyes away because they can’t see what is in front of them or to avoid eye contact with a person
- Jaw tightening to hold back from lashing out or saying something mean/inappropriate
- Sticking their tongue out to gag or because they tasted something gross
- Lips pressed in a thin line or biting lip to stop themselves from reacting
- Closing eyes to avoid seeing whatever the physical source of disgust
- Blank face – they’re too shocked to react, or their mind is still processingÂ
- Baring teeth
- Twitching eyebrows – combined disgust and irritation
- Eye roll, most dramatically
- Grimace, twisted expressionÂ
