- Parted because the character is having trouble breathing

- Clenched, especially if the character likes to tough through it
- Twisted in a grimace
- Lips pressed firmly together
- Lips feeling taut/strained
- Parted to let out a cry, hiss, or whimper
- Lips twitching in response to pain
- Frowning, corners curled down
- Dry, chapped, cracked lips
- Biting down on lip, lip pulled between teeth
- White/pale lips
- Red, swollen from biting down on lip
- Wrinkles around the corners from keeping lips tightened
- Lips moving but no sound (feeling too much pain to sleep)
- Lips parted because they can’t breathe through their nose
- Drawn back, revealing teeth (almost like a snarl but due to intense pain or anger stemming from pain)
