Fear of the Ocean
Prompt: Can we get headcanons of how the Octavinelle boys would handle a s/o with thalassophobia (fear of the ocean)? Like pools and water are fine, but don’t bring them into the ocean without extra underwater breathing potions or else…

- Floyd’s mood dampens when he learns about your fear; the ocean is his home, so how could his lover be afraid of his home? He promises it’s not that scary, and no one will try to mess with you with him around.
- He continues to sulk until you explain that you will go underwater as long as you have extra breathing potions in hand.
- After finding this out, Floyd continuously bugs Azul day and night to make potions for you so that he can go on underwater dates with you. When the octopus opens his eyes, he finds the eel standing next to his bed, smiling at him. When Azul goes into the shower, he sees Floyd waiting for him. One time, Azul came out of the shower and dropped his towel to change, only to see Floyd sitting on his bed. Unfortunately for the house warden, he screamed so loudly that Jade ran into the bedroom and also saw him without clothes. This incident made Azul cave in, and he created hundreds of potions for you just to get Floyd off his back.
- Now, whenever the eel invites you to the ocean, he brings a bag filled with breathing potions.
- If you ask him for help to overcome your fear, Floyd will drag Jade along as he doesn’t know how to help you and doesn’t want to use any brute methods. Either way, he doesn’t mind~ if you need more potions, he can always go back to bugging Azul.
- Whenever Azul has free time, he will create breathing potions for you (and him) and store them away.
- He has no issues with you not wanting to go near large bodies of water. Azul is a bit relieved that you don’t want to go into the ocean since that means he doesn’t need to worry about you seeing his octopus form. The more you want to stay away from the ocean/sea, the happier he will be.
- If you ask him for help to overcome the fear, Azul will gladly lend a hand. First, he will work with you in a pool by teaching you techniques to hold your breath. Then, he will bring you closer to the ocean little by little, starting with spending time near the beach, dipping your toes, bringing you knee-high into the water, then neck-high, swimming, and eventually going underwater. Azul will also constantly remind you that the ocean is not scary, and he is there for you and will not let anything happen to you.
- If you prefer to stay away from large bodies of water, he will not push you in any way to overcome your phobia, but Azul will wonder what triggered this phobia in you. He will try to find the answer in one way or another.
- Jade finds it interesting that you dislike the ocean yet choose to date a sea creature, but he wonders if your phobia is related to a traumatic event from your past. It would take him a second to find out how to use his signature spell, but since he can only use it once on you, he prefers to save it.
- Does this also mean you are afraid of visiting Octavinelle, considering the entire dorm is underwater? Maybe that’s the reason you always pick a table facing away from the windows.
- Jade is relieved that you are willing to go underwater with breathing potions. At least he can bring you to meet his parents when the time comes, but explaining how a human is breathing underwater will be a bit troublesome.
- Like Azul, he will gladly help you overcome your fear as long as you are willing to listen to his advice. All Jade asks is for you to trust him and keep in mind that he doesn’t want to hurt you in any way. If you prefer to stay the way you are, the eel has no issues with you. He’s content with you using breathing potions when visiting the places under the sea.
