Love Me
Prompt: Devildom has a Christmas tree decorated contest.
Gender: gn!Reader
Prologue:
While waiting for you to return to your room, he nonchalantly scanned your bedroom. An open book on the desk caught his eye, and thinking it was school work, he approached it.
“This is…their journal?”
He knew it was wrong of him to read your private thoughts, but the demon couldn’t help himself. When he read your entry, he was speechless…
You felt lonely but loved him and wanted to be loved by him; however, your lack of confidence prevented you from approaching him. You thought you weren’t good enough for him and dearly wished for him to love you.

- Lucifer sighed and shook his head. Everything made perfect sense now – you watching him from afar and making excuses to keep your distance from him. So he did hear you correctly when you mumbled, “the person you choose to be with will be lucky. Too bad my luck is horrible.”
- How he wanted to confront you right then and there, but he knew that would be far from ideal. His confrontation would surely only push you farther away from him. Also having to explain to you that he read your journal despite knowing it’s not right of him would be a pain.
- Instead, the Avatar of Pride focused on showing you how much he cared about you: from giving you random gifts/praises to taking care of your needs to paying attention to the smallest of details. Lucifer made sure you knew you weren’t alone, and he was there for you.
- The second he saw you accepting his gestures and getting used to them, he said, “I’m relieved to see that you don’t consider yourself lonely anymore. Seems like there is naught but one other thing left for me to ask. Considering you have already found your way into my heart, would you be kind enough to make space for me in your heart?”
- He already knew your answer, but the Avatar of Pride wanted to hear your say that you liked him.

- Belphie wasn’t sure how to react to your journal entry. He had figured out a while back that you had confidence issues, but Belphie didn’t know you were this critical of yourself.
- Your words didn’t settle well with him. He wished he could just hug you and tell you were wrong before inviting you to take a nap with him, but Belphie knew things wouldn’t be that easy, especially since you made up your mind that he wouldn’t like you.
- At first, he wasn’t sure how to handle this situation, but the Avatar of Sloth decided to do what he does best – sleep.
- Whenever he saw you alone, he would sit next to you and doze off. Slowly, he started to use your shoulder as a pillow and progressed to your lap. Though you weren’t sure what was going on, you didn’t question him and secretly enjoyed his attention.
- Then came the day he asked you to nap with him. Your face turned different shades of red, but you finally asked him why he was showering you with attention.
- “Because I like you. Since we are on this topic, would you like to go out with me? Rather, why don’t we have a date right now…a nap date?”

- Asmo was in shock. He knew you liked him, everyone did, but he didn’t know you liked him to this extent. Now he understood the hidden meaning behind your words. “You’re so beautiful! I wish I could be like you”, “um Asmo what type of person do you like? You deserve someone as amazing as you”, “I wish I was beautiful enough to get attention from the demo- guy I like”.
- Asmo felt a sharp pang in his chest. “Oh, sweetie. Why are you so hard on yourself? How can I help you see just how amazing you are?”
- He started to invite you to his outings, especially when he went shopping. Asmo took every chance he got to shower you with compliments; slowly by slowly, he tried to make you see just how worthwhile you were, and how fond he was of you.
- When he saw you opening up to him, Asmo took the opportunity and opened his heart to you, “Sweetie, now that you seem more comfortable around me…would you like to go on a date with me? I know I’m the Avatar of Lust and am ‘doomed’ to love everyone, but my dear, you’re not like the others. I may be attracted to them solely due the ‘curse’ on me, but I like you for who you are. So, what do you say? Would you be mine?”

- Levi stared at the journal blankly with his mouth agape. You thought he was too good for you? You thought the demon who was socially awkward, locked himself up in his room, got anxiety when he had to attend a gathering, and didn’t think highly of himself…was too good for you?
- He felt his head spinning. Not only did you – the person he dreamed of being with – loved him, but you didn’t think he would like you back? Levi knew he had to fix this somehow, but how?
- The Avatar of Envy wasn’t sure what to do, so he gathered courage and invited you to his room whenever he could to watch animes, music videos, play games, and just spend time with you in general.
- Then one day, he asked if you wanted to play one of his games, “I made it, but…it’s not good. Actually, n-nevermind, I’m s-sure you would much rather play a well-made and known g-game.”
- “No, I want to play it…will you let me?”
- As Levi watched you play his game with a smile, he pushed past his hesitance and asked, “I…have t-two tickets to a c-concert and…um…would you l-like to go with me? I want to g-get to know you b-better…”

- Mammon reread your journal entry a few times before the words fully settled in his mind. “They…like me, but don’t think they’re good enough for me? Did they take my words seriously when I said no one is good enough for the Great Mammon…?”
- Part of him was delighted to learn that you liked him, but the other part was upset to read that you thought so harsh of yourself. Why would such a lovely person like you think this way?
- For a moment, the Avatar of Greed stared at the word lonely. He started to mentally curse himself for not noticing this earlier. How could he have not seen this? He was going to fix this no matter what it took! Mammon found you and confronted you about your entry.
- “You r-read my journal?”
- “Maybe you shouldn’t leave your journal open for everyone to see. I’ve two things to say to ya. One, you’re wrong. Two, I’m s-so-sorry.”
- Seeing your confused expressions, Mammon lowered his eyes, “I’m sorry for not noticing you were lonely…Lucifer asked me to watch over ya, but I couldn’t even do that right. You’re wrong ’cause I like ya and always have…”
- The Avatar of Greed didn’t wait for your reactions; instead, he took you in his arms and whispered, “Will ya give me a chance to fix my mistake?”

- Satan was at a loss for words. How did you jump to such a conclusion? Why would you think he wouldn’t like you? Had he done something to make you feel that way? The Avatar of Wrath logically combed through the jumbled mess in his mind.
- He knew he needed to fix the lonely part first, so invite you out or to his room whenever he can. Then came the more difficult part – helping you gain confidence. Maybe compliments, asking you for help, and reminding you that you’re a blessing for everyone.
- Satan followed his plan and made sure you were never lonely, tried to help you see your value, and even dropped hints here and there that he was interested in you. He rinsed and repeated this plan until you finally asked him the question he was waiting for, “Satan, do you really l-like me?”
- His lips tugged into a smile, “Took you long enough to notice. So, are you free tomorrow? I would like to go on a date with you.”

- Beel froze in place and stared at your journal with wide eyes. He wouldn’t love you? But he shared his food with you…his most favorite food! Wasn’t that enough proof that he liked you?
- The Avatar of Gluttony dashed out of your room, and a few hours later, he returned, carrying a mountain of food.
- Despite getting startled by the collection of snacks, you questioned him about it. Beel smiled and said, “I got these snacks for us to share.”
- Since then, he stopped by every day, shared his snacks with you, and spent as much time as he could by your side. At first, you couldn’t open yourself up to him, but slowly you started to show him your true self – the self you hid behind your lack of confidence. Beel was happy to see his efforts didn’t go in vain.
- But you didn’t understand why he was going to this extent to get you to open up to him, so you finally asked him.
- The Avatar of Gluttony replied, “I read one of your journal entries…and you wrote that I wouldn’t love you. You know I only share my favorite food with the people I love, right? I hope you now know just how much I like you.”
